Tim Kelly was elected to his first term on Cedar Park City Council, Place 1, in May 2019. A 27-year Army officer, Tim has a lifelong career of serving his country through the military, as a civilian, and as an active citizen. Prior to serving on City Council, Tim was a familiar face at City Hall, engaging in numerous issues of importance to Cedar Park and speaking at several public meetings.
Tim enlisted in the Army in 1983. After his first Army tour, Tim exited the Army but remained in the Army Reserves of the National Guard (ARNG). In 1991 Tim re-entered Active Duty in the ARNG in California, advancing through the enlisted and officer ranks. When he retired in 2010 as a Chief Warrant Officer Three, his specialties included Nuclear Missiles, Military Intelligence, Logistics and Training. While in the Army, Tim was financially responsible for more than $500 million dollars of property and, trained more than 100 Warrant Officers, commanded a Training Company and initiated a new program for recruiting enlisted members into the Warrant Officer Corps.
In his civilian career, Tim has served as a constituent liaison in local government and now works as a Contact Services Representative for the United States Department of the Treasury.
Born and raised in upstate New York, Tim has lived in Cedar Park since 2004. He and his wife Karina have four children they have raised here in Cedar Park. He considers Cedar Park an incredible place to live and do business.
