Kevin Harris was re-elected to his second term on Place Five of the Cedar Park City Council in May 2023. He has served on City Council since he was elected in 2021. A resident of Cedar Park since 1997, his involvement began with the Chamber of Commerce Leadership class in 2001. Kevin has served on several boards over many years. Kevin served on the Community Development (4B) board for about 10 years. In 2013, he joined the Planning and Zoning Commission and served about 7 years. Kevin was appointed to City Council Place 4 in October 2020 to fill a short-term seat and spent a few months serving on the Economic Development (4A) Board. He also volunteered at the YMCA Twin Lakes as a board member and youth coach.
Prior to starting his own business in 2016, Kevin enjoyed a dual career working at Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation for over 16 years as Director of Operations while serving in the U.S. Army Reserve. He deployed to Iraq in 2004 and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal before retiring as Lieutenant Colonel.
Kevin has been married for over 30 years to his lovely wife Carol, who is the reason they ended up in Cedar Park, the only place they have lived in Texas. They were involved in many school activities, having raised two boys who graduated from Vista Ridge High School and completed college at Texas State.
