Chase Harris joined the City of Cedar Park as the Assistant Emergency Management Coordinator in December of 2021. Chase comes to the City with over 12 years of experience in Emergency Medical Services, both locally and out of state. Chase started volunteering in 2006 as a Fire Explorer. In 2009, Chase started his career as an Emergency Medical Technician in the private sector. In 2015, he joined the public Emergency Medical Services (EMS) sector in Central Texas where he held several positions including Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Paramedic, and Special Operations-Rescue Specialist. Chase served in Texas Emergency Medical Task Force 7, as well as Texas A&M Task Force 1 Search and Rescue, deploying to multiple disasters including Hurricane Harvey, Tropical Storm Imelda, Hurricanes Marco and Laura, as well as a 4 month assignment in regional COVID-19 response and mitigation. Chase received special Congressional recognition as EMT of the year in 2010, and was awarded the Disaster Mitigation Citation in 2018 for his actions in response to Hurricane Harvey.

Chase is a graduate of an International Fire Service Accreditation Congress Accredited Fire Academy, a graduate of the Texas A&M University Engineering Extension Service Paramedic School. He is certified as a Paramedic by the Texas Department of State Health Services, he holds several certifications in Incident Command from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and certifications in Technical Rescue from the Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) and Texas DPS. He is currently pursuing a certification from the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) as an Associate Emergency Manager.

Chase lives in Leander with his wife Jesika.
