Jennie Huerta, CPC joined the City of Cedar Park as Media and Communications Manager in 2010. In this role, she serves as City spokesperson and manages City news and media promotion, cable channel CPTV-10, and the City's website and social networking outlets, among other duties. She is also a FEMA-trained Public Information Officer in Emergency Management.

Huerta has a 21-year media career prior to joining the City of Cedar Park, as an award-winning TV reporter. She worked for KVUE, CBS Austin, KETK, and KRIV (Houston). Her stories on NASA's Columbia Disaster and Return to Flight and Hurricane Rita appeared on the CBS network. Prior to TV, Huerta was an announcer for KRTS, Houston's classical music radio station.

Huerta holds a BA in Communication from the University of St. Thomas. She completed Rice University's study abroad program at L' École supérieure de commerce de Dijon-Bourgogne, LBJ School of Public Affairs at UT Austin's RGK Center for Nonprofit Leaders strategic management program, TCU's Certified Public Communicator program, and Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce's 2018 Leadership Cedar Park class.

Huerta enjoys practicing her French and Spanish, as well as gardening and home improvements. She and her husband Javier have two sons and a daughter-in-law. She has called Central Texas "home" since 2001.
