Biography
Randall (Randy) Lueders, Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM), joined the City of Cedar Park in May 2012 and has served multiple roles within the City's Engineering Department. Beginning as a Senior Engineer managing transportation/roadway Capital Improvement Projects, serving as the City's floodplain administrator, managing the pavement management program, and performing development plan review, Lueders moved into a Senior Project Manager role managing the City's vertical/building construction projects in 2015. As Senior Project Manager, Lueders managed the construction of the:
- Parks and Recreation Maintenance Facility
- City Hall Building 6 Finish Out
- Fire Station 5
- Police Department Phase 2 Expansion
- City Hall Building 3 Renovation
- Lakeline Park
- Fire Station Renovations
- Design of projects within Bell District including the New Library and Bell Park, and design/construction of many others
Lueders was promoted to Director of Engineering and Capital Projects in September 2021. As Director of Engineering and Capital Projects, Lueders oversees the department's primary objective to ensure quality infrastructure for Cedar Park residents and employees. The department does this implementing the City's Capital Improvement Projects including construction of roadways and municipal buildings/facilities, implementing the City's Stormwater Master Plan, floodplain administration, reviewing subdivision and site development plans, and providing information on engineering issues in a professional and responsive manner.
Education & Certifications
Lueders graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2007 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was certified as a Professional Engineer in 2011, Certified Floodplain Manager in 2012, and Project Management Professional in 2020. Prior to serving the City of Cedar Park, Lueders worked for a private Civil Engineering firm specializing in municipal infrastructure from 2007 to 2012.
Family
Lueders and his wife, Penny, have lived in the Westside at Buttercup Creek subdivision since 2012 and are always chasing their three kids around Cedar Park as they participate in many school and sporting events.
