Brenda Eivens

Brenda Eivens has served as City Manager of the City of Cedar Park since her appointment by the City Council in January 2006. She initially joined the City in 1996 at the start of unprecedented community growth and has served in many roles prior to being named as City Manager, including Assistant City Manager, Director of Human Resources and Civil Services, and Human Resources Coordinator. Before coming to Cedar Park, Brenda began her career in the public sector at the University of Texas at Austin Office of Human Resources for three and a half years working in employment, compensation, and employee relations.

As the chief executive officer for the City of Cedar Park, Brenda is responsible for the management of the City's affairs and day-to-day operations, including the preparation and administration of the City's annual operating and capital budgets, delivery of responsive public safety services, development and upkeep of critical infrastructure, enhancement and maintenance of parks and community amenities, services to support business and residential development, and addition and expansion of economic development projects. With an annual operating budget of more than $120 million and a team of over 425 City employees, she works closely with the City Council to implement their goals and to meet the demands of a growing population and service expectations of Cedar Park's citizens, businesses and visitors. Brenda directly oversees the Deputy City Manager, Assistant City Managers, and the City's Economic Development Department.

Brenda earned a Master of Public Administration from Texas State University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Sam Houston State University. She is an active member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), the Texas City Management Association (TCMA), and member of Austin Area Research Organization (AARO). She currently serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin.

In 2016 the International City Management Association honored Brenda with the ICMA Award for Career Development in Memory of L.P. Cookingham. She received the Distinguished Alumni Award for Texas State University Master of Public Administration in 2014. In 2012, she was honored to be named Public Administrator of the Year by the Central Texas American Society of Public Administrators. She was recognized as a Profiles in Power and Women of Influence Winner by the Austin Business Journal in 2010.

A native of Central Texas, Brenda and her husband Scott and two children have made their home in Cedar Park for more than 20 years. She enjoys many outdoor activities, including running, spending time on a beach, and cheering on her kids at football, baseball, and soccer games.
