Garbage Collection Services

Trash Changes Beginning Week of March 1, 2020

Cedar Park Disposal, your trash and recycling pickup provider, will be using a new automated, side-loading truck in most neighborhoods in Cedar Park. In order for your trash cart to be serviced by this new automated, side-loading truck, your cart must be set out with the wheels to the curb and minimum of three feet from other objects – including your recycling cart. Bags or small branches left outside the cart will be loaded into the emptied cart by the driver and re-dumped into the truck. For items that do not fit in the cart, a secondary truck will service these items.  The second truck may arrive before or after the automated truck to service extra trash. Some neighborhoods have narrow alleyways or other obstacles where trash and recycling are collected – making it difficult or impossible for the automated truck to operate.

See neighborhoods NOT receiving automated service.

We’re seeing lots of questions about new trash and recycling procedures and we’d like to offer some clarifications and additional helpful information.

  • Remember that three feet is the minimum to set apart carts.  If it’s helpful to you, you may set apart your carts more than three feet from one another.  One option might be to set out each cart at either edge of your driveway.
  • All recycling materials must be contained in the recycling cart if you want those materials to be picked up by the recycling truck.
  • Anything outside the recycling cart must either be placed inside your trash cart or if it’s outside of your carts, it will be considered part of your seven-item bulk trash that the second trash truck that picks up bulk trash items.
  • One option is to save the extra recycling materials to place into your recycling cart for your next recycling pickup.
  • Another idea: talk with your neighbors! You may find that a neighbor does not mind allowing you to place your additional items in their cart.
  • Some of you have asked if you may get an additional trash or recycling cart.  Yes! You may purchase an additional trash or recycling cart for an extra $5.50/month per cart.  Contact Central Texas Refuse at 512-243-2833.
  • If you receive a yellow sticker on your cart, please adjust your items for pickup according to the directions on the yellow sticker and contact Central Texas Refuse at 512-243-2833 to request that they return to empty your cart.
