Police Chief Sean MannixSean Mannix is the Police Chief in Cedar Park, with more than 30 years of law enforcement experience. Chief Mannix joined the Cedar Park Police Department as Police Chief on January 21, 2013 after retiring as an Assistant Chief with the Austin Police Department. During his time with the City of Austin Police Department, he served in a variety of roles over the course of his 20-year tenure with the City. Prior to joining the Austin Police Department, Chief Mannix began his career with the Alameda, California Police Department in 1983 as a police officer. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s Degree in Homeland Security, and is a graduate of the 234th FBI National Academy, the LAPD West Point Leadership Program, the Blackwood Institute Leadership Command College and the Police Executive Research Forum Senior Management Institute. He has earned a Master Police Officer Certification and is a licensed instructor through the Texas Commission for Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE).

Chief Mannix leads a combined workforce of more than 120 officers and support personnel dedicated to the safety of our community. Through community partnerships and proactive police work, Chief Mannix and the men and women of the Cedar Park Police Department are committed to keeping Cedar Park one of the safest cities in Texas.

Chief Mannix is a long time resident of Williamson County and enjoys the outdoor activities Central Texas has to offer, including our state, county and city park systems. He is married to his wife Eileen and has four daughters.
