What is Teen Court?
Teen Court is a program in which you are represented by a volunteer teen attorney and sentenced by a jury of your peers.

Am I eligible to have my case heard in Teen Court?
The answer is YES, if the following criteria are met:

  • Plead guilty or no contest (nolo contendre) to a Class C misdemeanor (not including non-moving violations)
  • You are between the ages of 10 and 18, or currently enrolled full-time in a program to receive a high school degree
  • You have not been a defendant in Teen Court in the past year
How do I request my case be heard in Teen Court? Requests to have your case heard by a Teen Court jury can be made at your scheduled initial appearance with the Judge.

What are the benefits of having my case heard in Teen Court?
Upon successful completion of the Teen Court requirements, the case is dismissed. A conviction is NOT entered on the defendant’s record. Payment of $20 teen court fee plus court costs are paid instead of the fine in full.

Volunteers
Cedar Park Municipal Court Teen Court accepts volunteer applications throughout the year, subject to availability. To be eligible to volunteer, you must be between the ages of 14-18 and attending school, and have your parent’s permission before signing up. Print and fill out the Teen Court Volunteer Application below and send it to municipal.court@cedarparktexas.gov, fax to 512-259-9796 or drop it off at the Cedar Park Municipal Court.
