UPDATE: Donations of physical items not currently accepted. Monetary donations are currently accepted.
The Library accepts donated materials in good condition for all ages. Materials will be added to the collection based on the Library’s Collection Development Policy. Donated materials that are not added to the collection will be placed in the Friends of the Library book sale.
We do accept:
- Fiction and nonfiction for all ages
- Books on CD
- Music CDs
- New subscriptions to magazines
We do not accept:
- VHS tapes
- Cassette tapes
- Past issues of magazines
The Library also accepts monetary gifts as long as no restriction is placed on their use. The Library will accept monetary memorial donations and honoraria on behalf of the Library Foundation and the Friends of the Library in lieu of memorial books, as these books may not conform to the Library’s selection criteria or can duplicate what the Library already has in its collection.
Donations may be tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. The Library will gladly provide a written receipt, upon request, for donations. However, the Library does not appraise donated materials for income tax purposes.
