Kent Meredith, CPA, joined the City of Cedar Park as Director of Finance in December 2015.
As Finance Director, Meredith oversees the City’s $58.1 million General Fund budget, $41.8 million Utility Fund budget and $52.1 million in restricted funds, and supervises a staff of 20 employees in the Finance Department and Utility Billing Office.
Meredith, a native of San Antonio, but came to Cedar Park from the Town of Jackson, Wyoming, where he served as Finance Director since 2012. He also has experience as Finance Manager for the City of Peoria, Arizona – a large suburb of Phoenix – where he served from 2007 to 2012.
Meredith retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Air Force in 2007, where he served in various leadership positions in budgeting and finance over the course of his 24-year military career, including Comptroller/Squadron Commander, and Chief - Comptroller Special Programs Division. Meredith, a Certified Public Accountant, holds a Master of Science in Military Studies from Air University in Montgomery, Alabama, a Master of Art in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Texas State University.
Meredith is an outdoor enthusiast, who enjoys cycling, hiking, snow skiing and mountaineering. He has two grown daughters and resides in Cedar Park – where you’ll often find Meredith and his girlfriend Jan taking his beloved dog Remington, a Brittany, to the Cedar Bark Park.
