Parks amenities, Library limited opening and City lobbies update

Post Date:05/06/2020 4:30 pm

We have a phased approach to reopening City facilities and amenities, just as the State of Texas is using its own phased approach for Reopening Texas.  Your health and safety are our top priorities, so we’ve been carefully assessing and preparing our facilities and staff – according to CDC guidelines – and evaluating what other health and safety measures must be implemented in order to align with protocols outlined by the Governor.

Parks – as of May 8
Our parks and open spaces remain open.  As we install new signage and remove barricades within our parks, we’re reopening certain amenities:
     • Pavilions (25% capacity)
     • Basketball courts (4 players max)
     • Volleyball courts (4 players max)
     • Skate park (4 participants per area)
     • Parks restrooms

The Cedar Park Public Library – May 18
The Cedar Park Public Library plans to reopen with limited access and hours beginning May 18, 2020
     • 25 percent capacity
     • Temporary limited hours
          o Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
          o Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
          o Closed on Sundays (temporarily)
     • Continuing now and during limited operations
          o Online and curbside services

Certain City building lobbies – May 18, 2020
Based on anticipated delivery of necessary safety supplies and the installation of our facility safety improvements to minimize certain touchpoints and person-to-person contact, the City plans to reopen these public lobbies May 18
     • City Hall (including Fire Admin, Permits and Development Services)
     • Police Department

As a preventative measure to reduce the spread of COVID-19, City offices and departments will continue to provide services in a way that limits in-person interactions including

     • Scheduling appointments
     • Working remotely
     • Conducting business via
          o Telephone
          o E-mail
          o Mail
          o Technology
          o Drop box services

Other City facilities and amenities are under review. We will continue to update our community.  The City of Cedar Park asks community members and staff to please continue doing the great work of following physical distancing, handwashing and other CDC recommendations to help combat the spread of COVID-19.
