Post Date:03/03/2020 10:00 am
The Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) honored the Cedar Park Economic Development Corporation (Type 4A) with its Economic Excellence Recognition at its winter conference on February 20, 2020 in College Station.

According to TEDC, the Economic Excellence Recognition program provides recognition to economic development organizations that meet a desired threshold of professionalism. Recipients qualify for recognition based on training taken by their governing board/council as well as the economic development director and professional staff. Certifications, professional memberships and activities, and organizational effectiveness of the economic development staff also contribute to the standards for qualification.

Cedar Park Director of Economic Development Ben White said, “The Economic Excellence Recognition demonstrates the commitment that the City Council and Cedar Park Economic Development Corporation Board has towards achieving economic development success.”

This is the second time that the TEDC has honored the Cedar Park Economic Development Corporation with an award in recent months.  In October, the TEDC presented Cedar Park with the prestigious Community Economic Development Award, the CEDA, for its work to entice Hyliion to relocate its headquarters to Cedar Park.  Hyliion is a clean energy, hybrid tractor-trailer technology company that started in Pennsylvania.  At full operation, Hyliion will create 229 jobs with an estimated annual payroll of approximately $20.6 million in Cedar Park.  Hyliion is but one of many recent major economic development projects in Cedar Park.  For more information, visit
