Automated Trash Truck, Yard Trimming Recycling
Trash Changes Beginning The Week of March 1, 2020
Cedar Park Disposal, your trash and recycling pickup provider, will be using a new automated, side-loading truck in most neighborhoods in Cedar Park. In order for your trash cart to be serviced by this new automated, side-loading truck, your cart must be set out a minimum of three feet from other objects – including your recycling cart. Set your cart out with the wheels to the curb. Bags or small branches left outside the cart will be loaded into the emptied cart by the driver and re-dumped into the truck. For items that do not fit in the cart, a secondary truck will service these items. The second truck may arrive before or after the automated truck to service extra trash. Some neighborhoods have narrow alleyways or other obstacles where trash and recycling are collected – making it difficult or impossible for the automated truck to operate. These neighborhoods will not be serviced by the automated, side-loading truck. View the map below to see the neighborhoods not receiving the automated service.
Yard Trimmings Recycling March 23 through Friday, May 1
From Monday, March 23 through Friday, May 1, yard trimmings will be collected to be recycled. Tree and shrub trimmings must be no more than four feet in length and no more than four inches in diameter each, weigh no more than fifty pounds and be placed in bundles. Other yard trimmings such as leaves and grass clippings must be placed in brown paper yard waste bags and not in plastic bags. Wet bags will not be picked up due to weight and risk of breakage. During this yard trimmings recycling period, yard trimmings may be placed in addition to your bulk items limit of seven (7) items outside of your trash cart. Please note that after May 1, yard trimmings will still be picked up but will count towards your bulk items limit and will not be recycled. There will be another yard trimmings recycling period during the fall.
