You might remember the days when Cedar Park held an annual HHW dropoff. This event took a lot of city resources and was cumbersome to host on an annual basis. The new HHW Porch Program will provide Cedar Park residents the ability to dispose of their household hazardous waste at a more affordable rate, as well as dispose of things on a more regular basis.
City of Cedar Park residents will be billed at $0.86* per month for the new Household Hazardous Porch Pickup service. You will see this as a new line item on your bill.
*The City of Cedar Park is subsidizing a portion of the cost of this service with the funding that had been directed to the past annual one-day Household Hazardous Waste Collection event.

Our provider HHW Solutions does pick up electronics from City of Cedar Park residential customers. You may notice that electronics is not featured on HHW Solutions’ website. This is due to varying services provided to other jurisdictions.
Yes. All items must be in their original containers or clearly labeled. Unknown substances will not be collected.
No. Never mix chemicals. Chemical reactions might occur that could result in danger to the homeowner or HHW Solutions collection personnel.
Pickup days are every Friday between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm. Sign-up by midnight the Wednesday before. Leave your items on the porch (do not bring to curb).
All residents that are currently billed for trash service will be billed for the new HHW program.
Anyone who pays the HHW fee on their utility bill is eligible for the HHW Porch Pickup. If you are a resident of an apartment complex or contract utilities in another manner, here are a few locations that you can dispose of HHW:
Williamson County Recycling Center located at the landfill entrance just north of Hutto. Visit the Williamson County Recycling Center website for a list of what the center will and won't accept.
We are also aware of one-day collection events in Leander that are co-hosted with Williamson County and all Williamson County residents can participate. We do not see dates posted for that yet – but you can check www.wilcotx.gov and www.leandertx.gov periodically for updates
There is a collection facility located in Austin. For more information, visit the Travis County Disposal webpage.
Pickups are on Friday. To sign up for service you must fill out the online form by midnight the Wednesday before pickup.
Gone are the days of waiting in line to drop off your HHW materials. Moving forward, all residents of Cedar Park will be able to use the HHW Porch Program.
A confirmation email will be sent out as a reminder the Thursday morning before pickup.
