Battalion Chief Mulrain has served the City of Cedar Park since 1998.
Battalion Chief Mulrain joined the Cedar Park Fire Department, beginning as a Firefighter in July 1998, working his way through the ranks as a Fire Lieutenant, Fire Captain and eventually Battalion Chief. Battalion Chief Mulrain currently leads B shift.
Battalion Chief Mulrain holds an Associate Degree in Fire Protection Technology from Austin Community College. He is certified by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection in Training Department Head, and as a Master Firefighter, Master Fire Instructor, Incident Safety Officer, and Wild land Firefighter. He is certified as a Fire Officer IV by Proboard/TEEX and an Emergency Medical Technician by the Texas Department of Health. He is currently enrolled in West Texas A&M to obtain his Bachelor Degree in Emergency Management. Battalion Chief Mulrain is also involved with the department’s HEATS (Helping Educate About Today’s Safety) program. This program goes to the City’s elementary schools and educates the students about fire safety, bicycle safety, car safety and other aspects of being safe. He has been a member of that program since 2005.
