Crime Prevention

"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" is an old adage that holds true for community crime suppression. Officers use training and share skills to help you improve the security around your home or business. Sharing information is key to crime prevention, so law enforcement and the public must disseminate and share information that can help "harden the target" and reduce the risk of victimization.

Neighborhood Watch

Many areas of Cedar Park have active Neighborhood Watch groups that simply function by watching out for each other's interests, knowing your neighbors, and being observant as to what goes on in and around your neighborhood. Many incidents of theft and vandalism have been prevented or solved through observant neighbors watching out for one another.
