Cedar Park Fire Department currently provides fire service to the entire Cedar Park city limits as well as five contract areas within the City of Cedar Park's extra-territorial jurisdiction (ETJ). For more information, view this Map of Fire Department's Service Area (PDF).
The City of Cedar Park Fire Department's contract service areas include Williamson County Emergency Services District (ESD) 11 and Williamson County ESD 12. These areas had previously received fire service from the Cedar Park Fire Department but were not located within an entity that could contract with and compensate the City of Cedar Park for services rendered. However, during the November 2011 election, these "non-contracted" areas voted to create 2 ESD, Williamson County ESD 11 and ESD 12:
Williamson County ESD 11 includes the Shenandoah neighborhood in south Cedar Park. Voters approved the creation of this ESD with a 178 to 25 vote.
Williamson County ESD 12 includes Breakaway, Caballo Ranch, Whippoorwill, Lakewood Country Estates, the Place, Sam Bass and other neighborhoods east of U.S. Highway 183. Voters approved the creation of ESD 12 with a 179 to 35 vote.
Residents in the northwest corner of the City of Cedar Park's ETJ, which include the North Rim, Cross Creek and Indian Springs neighborhoods, chose to join Travis County ESD 1 and are now served by the North Lake Travis Fire Department.
