Household Hazardous Waste Front Porch Pickup Program
What is the Household Hazardous Waste Front Porch Pickup Program?
This service is separate from your regular trash and recycling service. Residents are now able to schedule appointments to have their HHW picked up directly from their front porch!
The City contracts through HHW Solutions to bring you this new at-home Household Hazardous Waste Front Porch Pickup.
The Process
- Schedule your pickup online by midnight on Wednesday for collection on Friday. You may also schedule by calling 888-694-4978. (You will receive an email on Thursday morning confirming you are scheduled.)
- Leave items on your front porch or near the front of your house
- DO NOT put items on the curb
- Items set out without scheduling, will NOT be collected
- Items will be collected from your front porch between 8 am and 6 pm on Fridays
Items Not Accepted
- Asbestos/arsenic/cyanide
- Automobile tires
- Business/commercial waste
- Chemicals not in original containers
- Explosives
- Medical waste/infectious waste/sharps
- Nuclear/radioactive waste
- Pharmaceuticals
- Propane and butane cylinders
- Radioactive Materials
- Tires and trash
- Unidentified chemicals
Items Accepted
- Aerosol cans
- Automotive fluids and fuels
- Batteries of all kinds
- *Electronics (computers, TVs, phones, tablets, monitors, printers, fax machines, etc. up to 50 lbs.)
- Be sure to wipe any electronics of personal data
- Glues & epoxies
- Household cleaners
- Lawn and garden items including fertilizer, pesticides & weed killers
- Light bulbs of all kinds
- Paint of all kinds
- Pool chemicals & additives
- Used motor oil & cooking oil (screw top lid)
- Varnishes, strippers, turpentine & stains

*Our provider HHW Solutions does pick up electronics from City of Cedar Park residential customers. You may notice that electronics is not featured on HHW Solutions’ website. This is due to varying services provided to other jurisdictions.
Proper Handling
- All items labeled
- Chemicals in original labeled containers, except cooking & motor oil
- Do not mix chemicals
- Make sure all items are labeled (unlabeled items will not be collected)
- Make sure all items have spill-proof lids
- Make sure chemicals do not spill, leak, or mix
- Flammable liquids must be in container approved for transporting flammable liquids
- If the original container is cardboard or paper, place the item in a labeled plastic bag
- If you have several small items, place them in a labeled plastic bag
- Small sized containers - items must fit into a box no larger than 20″ x 14″ x 14″
- Items set out without scheduling, will NOT be collected
Billing Changes
As of February 2023 you may have seen on your utility bill: 86¢/month charge* for the new Household Hazardous Waste Porch Pickup and an increase of 82¢/month to account for Central Texas Refuse’s contracted annual rate adjustment for fuel and inflation. Together, this represents a net change of $1.68/month.

*The City of Cedar Park is subsidizing a portion of the cost of this service with the funding that had been directed to the past annual one-day Household Hazardous Waste Collection event.
