Adults or Teens: Book Hunter

Task: You will be given a list of Books, DVDs, and Audiobooks to find and pull from the shelf. We are looking for people who want to volunteer year round.

You: Great attention to detail. OK with working on solitary projects. Vision acute enough to read printed sheets of paper, call numbers on the spine of books and barcode numbers inside books. Ability to reach items on higher and lower shelves. Ability to push a cart full of items. Ability to stand & walk (with frequent bending) for up to 2 hours.

Schedule: We are seeking 2 volunteers that can work either Tuesday or Friday in the morning. Shifts are up to 2 hours at a time, taking place between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Your exact shift time will be determined based on your availability. Our expectation is that if you cannot make one of your planned shifts you would call in and let us know so we can make other arrangements.

  3. Library staff will review your application and consider your skills, interests and availability; if your application is a good match for our needs we will contact you for a brief interview
  4. If we do not match you with an opportunity right now, we may keep your application on file.
  5. By completing a volunteer application you acknowledge and agree that the City of Cedar Park will run a criminal background check as a condition for approving you to volunteer.
