Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS)

Cedar Park HSEM manages the City’s Small Unmanned Aircraft System Program (sUAS). The Program maintains licensed Remote Pilots through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Title 14 CFR Part 107 and includes Pilots from Cedar Park HSEM and The Cedar Park Police Department. The Program maintains a fleet of quadcopter drones with a range of capabilities, including thermal imaging, aerial mapping, payload delivery, spot lighting, speaker communication and video streaming. Common use cases for the sUAS Program are structure fires, wildfires, missing persons, suspect searches, traffic collision reconstruction, over-watch, damage assessment, building inspection and land surveying.
