Two new City Council Members, one returning Member sworn in (update)

Cedar Park City Council will have two new Council Members, along with one incumbent, following today’s election results. Anne Duffy won the Place Three seat with 57.67 percent of the vote (2004 votes) over incumbent Lyle Grimes who received 42.33 percent (1471 votes).
Duffy said, “I am overwhelmed with the outpouring of support and the trust in what I want to do and what I want to represent, and that is the citizens of the city.”
Heather Jefts won the Place Five seat with 57.62 percent of the vote (2007 votes) over incumbent Jon Lux who received 42.38 percent of the vote (1476 votes).
Jefts said, “I will work to make sure the citizens of Cedar Park have a voice on the City Council.”
Both Jefts and Duffy thanked their opponents Lux and Grimes, respectively, for their contributions while serving on City Council.
Incumbent Place One Council Member Stephen Thomas, who is also currently serving as Mayor Pro Tem, ran unopposed and was re-elected with 100 percent of the vote (2148 votes). This will be his eighth term serving on the Cedar Park City Council.
Council Member Thomas said, “It’s an honor and a privilege to serve the citizens of Cedar Park and I hope to continue to earn their trust and carry out the wishes of the citizens.”
